Guarantee terms.
What our guarantee covers after a service, and the few things that end it.
In short
Our guarantee
Every watch that leaves the workshop is covered by a guarantee on the work we carried out. It runs for 24 months on Rolex models with a 6-digit reference, and 12 months on vintage watches and all other brands, from the date your watch is returned or collected. The exact cover is also recorded on your service certificate.
The four points below are the terms as they appear on your service certificate.
The terms
What is covered
Covers the work carried out and the parts we replaced
The guarantee applies to the service we performed and to the components we fitted during that service. Parts already in the watch that we did not replace, and work carried out elsewhere, fall outside it.
Movement servicing is guaranteed against defects in workmanship
If the movement develops a fault that traces back to how we assembled, adjusted or regulated it, bring the watch back and we will put it right. This is a guarantee on our workmanship, not on the watch as a whole.
Excludes impact damage, water damage, and normal wear
Knocks, drops and other impact damage are not covered. Water damage and water resistance are never covered, under any circumstances — a water-resistance test only confirms the condition at the moment of testing, and that can change with everyday use. If the watch is opened by anyone other than us, the seal we tested and approved is no longer guaranteed to be the same seal inside the watch; the warranty for water resistance therefore no longer applies. Everyday wear to the case, bracelet, crystal and finish is also outside the guarantee.
Opening the watch elsewhere ends the guarantee
Once another workshop opens the case, we can no longer vouch for the state of the movement or the water resistance we signed off. The guarantee ends at that point. If anything at all seems wrong with your watch, come to us first.
Questions
Not sure where you stand?
Your certificate records the guarantee for your watch. If anything on it is unclear, ask us and we will explain exactly what applies.
